PAYMENT POLICY
The Book Exchange is NOT a trade store, nor do we purchase our inventory.
Our system is fairly simple.

Customers who bring in books will be given store credit  for the value placed on the books brought in. Customers who have adequate credit will pay half price for their purchases.
Half of the book purchase amount will be deducted from the credit account.
Remaining credit balance will remain in customer's account.
Those who do not bring in books or have no store credit will pay full bookstore price.

Here is an example of our payment policy:
Customer has brought in $20 worth of used books. Customer wishes to purchase $20 worth of books. The customer will pay the store $10 plus tax in cash/check and the remaining $10 will be deducted from the customer's credit account, thus reducing the customer's $20 credit to $10 in credit. The remaining $10 in credit may be used on future visits.
Customer who wishes to purchase $20 worth of books and has no credit account will pay the store $20 plus tax in cash/check.
There is no expiration on credit.
There is no limit to how much credit a customer can accumulate.
Credit is not transferrable.
Customers may bring back books they've purchased from this store so long as the book is not marked "No Return".
Customers who bring back books they've purchased from this store will receive full credit for them. If the book's marked price was $3.00, the customer will receive $3.00 credit regardless of how much the customer actually paid for the book. However, the store reserves the right to reject a book or reduce a book's value based on the book's condition when returned; ie, if the book got chewed up by your dog after you purchased it, then the credit value has been reduced and must be marked down due to damage.
Customers are actually encouraged to return their purchases once they are done with them. This is a great way to recycle the books and keep the customer's credit account build up!
Acceptable books are not limited to books purchased within this store. We do accept books purchased at other bookstores, yard sales, private collections, etc.
